Everybody wants to lead a happy life but very few are ready to come out of their comfort zone and opt for change.  Imagine a situation that you have newly joined a famous multinational company and you came across a more than a decade old established process in your department, which you feel can be improved. You approach your boss with an improvisation. What do you think, what will be his reaction? In more than 90 percent cases he will defend the existing process and rule out the change. While pursuing my Masters in Microsystems Engineering, I was living in furtwangen, Germany. Furtwangen is a small city in Baden-Württemberg. It is situated in the heart of the black forest and known for its Cuckoo musical clocks and the source of Danube river. The second largest river in Europe flowing through 10 countries.   Every time I visited the Danube source, that small stream taught me many life lessons. One of the things I learnt is the power of optimism. When I first visited  the source, I was bewildered by thinking how such a small stream which is just a 50 cm by 50 cm small water outlet at the top of a mountain becomes such a huge river of 2850 km.  During my stay in Furtwangen, I have spent many hours sitting there alone, watching the water coming out of the head of the mountain. अँटी व्हायरस..... लँपटाँप घेताना मला सांगण्यात आले की त्याच्यावर अॅन्टीव्हायरस प्रोग्राम टाकून घे... देणारा माझा मित्रच होता...मी विचारले याची आवश्यकता का? त्याने उत्तर दिले की आपला लॅपटॉपला आपण मोबाईल जोडतो किंवा मेमरी कार्ड जोडतो. कदाचित इंटरनेटचा वापर करताना सर्फिंग करताना अनेक हार्मफुल साईट्स असतात, छुपे व्हायरस असतात जे आपल्या नकळत आपल्या पी सी मधे येतात व सिस्टीम बिघडवतात. मी विचारले समजा लॅपटॉप कशालाच जोडला नाही तर मग कसे येतील? त्याने सांगितले की जोडावा तर लागतोच व समजा जोडला नाहीच तरी काही काळाने अनावश्यक फोल्डर वगैरे तयार होतात ते काढून टाकावे लागतात. काही प्रोग्राम अपडेट करावे लागतातच अपरिहार्य पणे जोडावा लागतोच. आपल्या नकळत व्हायरस येऊ शकतात. त्यासाठी अँटीव्हायरस असावाच व रोज अथवा ठराविक दिवसांनी पीसी स्कॅन करावा. मी सर्व ऐकले व समजून घेतले... वर वर अतिशय कॉमन दिसणारी ही गोष्ट मला बरंच शिकवून गेली... एरवी शास्त्र वगैरे न मानणारी तरुण पिढी पी सी वर अँटीव्हायरस आवर्जून टाकतातच कारण ती तांत्रिक गरज आहे. मी थोडा असा विचार केला... जर एखादा छोटा लॅपटॉप ज्याची ह...

अनुग्रहाची AMC (सुंदर) आमच्या सोसायटीत दर वर्षी दोन वेळा पाण्याच्या टाक्या स्वच्छ करण्याचा कार्यक्रम असतो. साधारण ज्या दिवशी टाकी स्वच्छ होणार असते त्या दिवसापूर्वी दोन दिवस आमचा वॉचमन सोसायटीमधल्या सगळ्या घरात येऊन "कल टाकी साफ होनेवाला है. पुरा दिन पानी बंद रहेगा. घरमे पानी भरके रखना. परसो भी सफाईके कारण थोडा गंदा पानी आ सकता है. थोडा ध्यान रखना" अशी सूचना देऊन जातो. आणि ठरलेल्या दिवशी ती टाकी सफाईची प्रक्रिया सुरु होते. एकदा मला ती टाकी साफ होत असताना बघण्याचा योग आला होता. सगळीच प्रक्रिया एकदम डोळे उघडणारी होती. अगोदर टाकीमधील सर्व पाणी काढून ती रिकामी केली गेली आणि नंतर टाकीचं झाकण उघडलं. त्यात तळाशी इतका गाळ होता की माझा विश्वासच बसला नाही. आमच्या टाकीचं झाकण नेहेमी कुलूप लावून बंद असतं त्यामुळे त्यात वरून कचरा, माती पडणं शक्यच नाही. म्हणजे  दररोजच्या पाणी पुरवठ्यामधून जे पाणी गाळून स्वच्छ होऊन येतं त्यातसुद्धा इतकी माती आणि सूक्ष्म कचरा असतो. जे पाणी टाकीत पडत असतं ते शुद्ध आणि स्वच्छच आहे असं दिसतं खरं पण थोडी अशुद्धी त्यात नकळत येतच असते. हीच अशुद्धी तळाशी गाळ ह...
